- Projector and computer (optional for video)
**Lesson Outline:**
**1. Introduction (5 minutes)**
- Begin with a short prayer.
- Briefly review the previous lesson to connect to the current topic.
- Introduce the topic: "Love the Supreme Law" by asking students what they understand by love in a Christian context.
**2. Bible Reading (10 minutes)**
- Ask students to open their Bibles to Matthew 22:34-40.
- Read the verses aloud or call on a student to read.
- Discuss what Jesus means when He says that the greatest commandments are to love God and to love your neighbor as yourself.
**3. Explanation and Discussion (10 minutes)**
- Explain the context: Jesus was asked by a Pharisee which is the greatest commandment in the Law.
- Emphasize that Jesus summarized all the laws with love: loving God and loving others.
- Discuss with students how loving God involves worship, obeying His commands, and having a relationship with Him.
- Explore how loving others involves kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and putting others' needs before our own.
**4. Group Activity (10 minutes)**
- Divide the class into small groups.
- Provide each group with a handout that includes the following Bible verses: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, John 15:12-13, and Romans 13:8-10.
- Ask the groups to read the verses, discuss what they say about love, and list actionable ways they can show love in their daily lives.
- Have each group present their findings to the class.
**5. Role-Playing (5 minutes)**
- Have students volunteer to role-play different scenarios where they can practice love (e.g., helping a friend in need, showing kindness to a stranger, forgiving someone who hurt them).
- Use a few minutes to discuss each scenario and the importance of love in those contexts.
**6. Reflection and Conclusion (5 minutes)**
- Summarize the key points discussed.
- Ask students to reflect quietly for a minute on how they can improve showing love in their lives.
- Share a concluding thought: Emphasize that love is a commandment and a way to live out our faith.
- End with a closing prayer, praying for the ability to love God and others more deeply.
**Homework:**
- Assign students to read 1 John 4:7-21 and write a short reflection (one paragraph) on how these verses influence their understanding of love.
- Encourage them to practice one act of love during the week and be prepared to share their experience in the next class.
**Assessment:**
- Participation in group discussions and activities.
- Role-play engagement and understanding.
- Reflective paragraph submission and sharing experience in the next class.
